As you have no doubt noticed TVR has had some very exciting news to shout about over the last few months. The company has been bought by a gentleman called Nikolai Smolenski who, you'll be glad to hear, is an absolute TVR enthusiast and has already started to invest heavily in the TVR brand and the factory infrastructure.
Talks have been initiated with Blackpool Borough Council with regards to a site for a new factory and the design and production engineers are putting together their wish lists as to what they need. While it's going to take a while to work through those plans and put them into action, top of Nikolai's list, taking precedence above everything else, is to improve the quality of TVR's cars yet further. We all know how some elements of the press portray TVR and, although much of it is rubbish, it does make TVR under the new ownership more determined than ever to build even better cars. It wasn't far off Nikolai's first act on arriving to give the engineers the time to undertake a thorough review of the quality control of the cars and the components that go into them. Unfortunately, what this means is that, while this is going on, TVR are not going to be starting Tuscan 2 production until the 1st October and Sagaris approximately 4 weeks later. It is also more than likely that TVR will be putting their prices up across the range although they will of course be holding the prices for those orders on which they have already received deposits.
There are many further changes underway with Nikolai looking to increase production to 1500-2000 cars a year and limiting production to 500 individually numbered cars in any model. The work force is being expanded by about 50 engineers to 430 in total to help bring about the increase in production. The dealer network is to be expanded into Europe, with a move into America on the cards. Nikolai is also looking to ensure that TVR remains a very British sportscar by ending any contracts with foreign suppliers and replacing them with UK manufacturers. Nikolai is very much looking to the long term for the brand and is doing all he can to ensure that this next phase of TVRs development is a highly successful one.
For all our customers who have placed orders for the new models I would asked you to bear with us until these cars start driving off the production line as I am sure that you will be amongst the first to benefit from this increase in standards as being instigated by the factory. If you have an order with Racing Green TVR for a new model could you please ensure that you have made your deposit up to 10% and supplied us with your specifications as your car will now be arriving in the near future. We, at Racing Green TVR, will be working closely together with the factory to improve the experience of buying and owning a TVR and to that end would appreciate any suggestions that you have to make on this, or any other pertinent subject!
For those of who have not placed an order for one of the new models, Racing Green TVR will be receiving their Tuscan 2 and Sagaris demonstrators very shortly and would be more than happy to book you in for a test drive or a viewing should you be interested.
Racing Green TVR will also be having an open day on the 17th October so if you are free please come down and find out about all the changes happening at TVR and the superb new models about to arrive.
Thank you for being patient, I can assure you it will be well worth the wait! |
