Engine Management Upgrade for the Speed 6

20/01/2009

Racing Green TVR has signed an agreement with a leading aftermarket engine management company to develop a new engine management system for the TVR Speed 6 engine. The OE engine management system supplied by MBE is no longer supported and is now effectively obsolete. It has been getting more expensive to repair failed ECUs and new units are not easily available. Therefore, an alternative replacement ECU has been sourced and work is currently underway to integrate it to the engine and the existing wiring looms. This new ECU will offer significant overall advantages with many other functions becoming available. The ECU will give full engine diagnostics and Racing Green TVR is hoping to be able offer idle control as one of the first benefits. Other benefits will include more torque and engine flexibility partly through the use of superior modern fuel injectors. Functionality thereafter will increase and Racing Green TVR are hoping to be able to offer a full sequential engine management system off the shelf in the next 10 weeks. This new engine management system will be fully type approved and control all existing systems under the TVR bonnet. It will come with a dedicated wiring harness to allow easy fitting and replace the existing MBE unit straight out of the box. For more information please contact Martin on 01252 894787
