Racing Green TVR News
Not the weather for testing!!
02/12/2010
Racing Green TVR are very pleased to announce that the new FFF variant ran for the first time yesterday and has now undergone a number of running in sessions prior to the fitment of the Syvecs ECU and power tests early next week. The engine is running extremely well and appears to be exceptionally powerful. However conditions in the south of England are not currently conducive to testing a powerful rear wheel drive car but next week Syvecs will endow it with traction control which should help ease this situation.
Final calculations on the weight saving in the cam drive on the TVR Speed 6 engine with the new FFF head are in the region of 4.6-5 kg. The Simplex timing chain saves circa 1.3 kg, the new valve and bucket design a further 1.1 kg and the gun drilled steel camshafts a further 1.1kg each over their cast equivalents. This massive weight saving allows tthe engine to rev significantly more freely as well as reducing loads on all associated parts.
Mapping, power runs and traction control will all be worked through early next week and Racing Green TVR will then have a Tuscan 2 demonstrator for all the many customers who have expressed an interest in this stunningly machined cylinder head for the TVR Speed Six engine.
