Speed Sensor for TVR Tuscans, Sagaris, Tamoras and T350s.
14/03/2011
Racing Green TVR has sourced a very high quality sensor to replace the speed sensor on the later Speed 6 engined cars. TVR Cerberas used the earlier type of sensor.
The speed sensor is located on the differential and is often the source of problems associated with the speedometer where there is zero speed displayed. This new sensor is more compact, robust and cheaper than the original as well as being of high specification and the correct type of output for the electronics of the TVR.
The wiring from this sensor is a slightly different colour coding but the changeover is simplicity itself.
Sensor wiring colours:-
Red wire on the sensor is the supply/ignition voltage and should be connected to the Green wire on the vehicle.
Black wire on the sensor is the earth/ground voltage and should be connected to the Black wire on the vehicle.
Green wire on the sensor is the digital output and should be connected to the Grey wire on the vehicle.
The sensor also requires a smaller mounting bracket and this is supplied with the sensor.
The part number of the new sensor is TVR M1889 RG and can be purchased from this website. For any further information please contact Bryan at Racing Green TVR on 01252 894787
